7 things about my Self ... yes I was tagged but won't pass it on

Posted on Nov 27th, 2007 by Diana : EGOhunter Diana
It's really been a while since I updated my journal. Between family, work and my first upcoming art gallery I have gotten behind, again! I wonder if someone will put that on my headstone someday. "Here she lies... as soon as she catches up to her death"

Oh! My last piece of art really fits in this blog so I will share it with you:

five past three

Anyways with all this I have now been tagged by my friend Kira and I thought it was time to catch up some time and at least don’t break this chain. Sooooo, here we go:

Kira  tagged me to tell you 7 unusual things about myself and to tag 7 people. Here are the rules of engagement (I will not follow rules 4 & 5 but instead invite every volunteer to send me a comment if he/she is ready to share with us 7 points about him/herself)

1. Link to the person’s blog who tagged you.
2. Post these rules on your blog.
3. List seven random and/or weird facts about yourself.
4. Tag seven random [?] people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
5. Let each person know that they have been tagged by posting a comment on their blog or their shout out wall.

7 random things about me:

1. I would love to live amongst the poor again (Having lived almost half of my life in Luxus… ehem… I mean Luxembourg, I had enough of the material world)
2. I am addicted to the web (could I live amongst the poor and take my Mac with me?)
3. I finally managed to stop using the car for everything and instead use the bus and the train. (If someone told me that I was going to do this some years ago I would have laughed)
4. I have no particular religion but am almost tired of explaining to people that I am no atheist
5. I’m not afraid of death
6. I want to be incinerated (so I won’t be able to catch up to my death …) - seriously now: I am not afraid of death but don’t want to wake up in a closed coffin :-)
7. I quit smoking some years ago and am thankful for it almost every day when I see others smoking. I made it! Woot! I mean the 7 points …

Bonus n°8 - I have a problem with following rules :-)

So now, want to share your 7 points? Leave a comment :-)

What determines a good education?

Posted on Nov 28th, 2007 by Diana : EGOhunter Diana
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 28, 2007:

I really don't know how to define an ideal education ... I'm not even sure if this exists - perhaps because we're trying to educate three teenagers (15, 14 and 13) at the moment and it is like  sitting on a rodeo horse - iuhuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh.! ... and if you don't hold tight ... well, you know what happenes :-)

I can share a little story here that really made me believe that I was going in the right direction concerning a good education: My three boys keep fighting at home and man, this sometimes really is a pain in the "bleep"! They do not at all behave, I keep telling them that they have to learn to respect each other and I could go on and on ... . One day an older woman from the neighbourhood told me how impressed she was about my boys, that they were so well educated and willing to help. I first had to ask her if she was sure that she was talking about the same boys and afterwards I smiled and thougt: "Well, whatever your worries are with their behaviour at home, they can at least make a difference between at home and in the big wide world." They at least know how to behave when it comes to it, so I think they got the message.

I think the most important message is : Respect, respect, respect :-)
