As a webmaster and hobby artist I am always on the hunt for new artists on the web and it is incredible how much amazing people I am still discovering these days and hopefully will in the future.

This picture caught my attention on the internet and I simply had to find out who painted it until I discovered more from the same artist and that they where all photographs! What a wonderful artist! I was almost upset about the fact that I had not heard from Gregory Colbert before! Well ... the world is small but still a lot bigger than I thought ;-) ... fortunately!
Since 1992, Gregory Colbert has been filming and photographing elephants, whales, manatees, eagles, orangutans, and other animals in such places as Egypt, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Ethiopia, Namibia, Tonga, the Azores, Antarctica, and Borneo to explore the wondrous interactions between man and animal. His images attempt to remove the boundaries between humans and other species- to re-awaken in us an understanding of our shared animal nature.
Gregory Colbert's photographic artworks capture extraordinary moments of contact between man and animal. None of the images have been digitally collaged or superimposed. They record what the artist himself saw through the lens of his camera.
Also have a look at his official site: www.ashesandsnow.org/ and relax with the folowing video
